Rookie Nate Allen earns starting FS job; Mikell has sprained MCL
Among other items Andy Reid addressed at his end of offseason work is that Eagles rookie second-round draft pick Nate Allen would open training camp as one of the starting safeties.
Veteran strong safety Quintin Mikell, though, has a sprained medial collateral ligament in his right knee.
Reid nonetheless expects Mikell, guard Todd Herremans (sore foot), middle linebacker Stewart Bradley (strained calf) and rookie wide receiver Riley Cooper (strained hamstring) to be healthy for the first fullstart of training cam-squad practice of training camp on July 29th.
Defensive end Victor Abiamiri (knee) and center Jamaal Jackson (knee) likely won't be cleared to practice according to the head coach.
