Shurmur checks out Raiders job
Pat Shurmur interviewed Friday for the head coaching job of the Oakland Raiders.
Shurmur, 49, has a history with Reggie McKenzie, the general manager of the Raiders. McKenzie worked with the late Fritz Shurmur, the uncle of Pat Shurmur, with the Green Bay Packers.
Shurmur guided the Cleveland Browns to 4-12 and 5-11 seasons in 2011-12. He filled a variety of roles on the staff of Andy Reid from 1999-2008.
Shurmur was offensive coordinator of the St. Louis Rams in 2009-10. The Rams went 8-24 in those years with Steve Spagnuolo as head coach.
The Raiders were 3-13 last season.
Jack Del Rio, among others, is slated to interview for the head coaching job.
