Lawrence in for "just a workout"

The Eagles worked out linebacker Simoni Lawrence, the All-Delco selection from Upper Darby High School released by the St. Louis Rams.
For now it’s just a workout.
Also at Eagles practice Wednesday, middle linebacker Stewart Bradley exited holding his left leg. The Eagles are calling it just a mild strain of the calf.
Earlier in the day the Eagles agreed to terms on a four-year deal with running back Charles Scott, the sixth-round pick out of LSU. He’s the first of 13 picks in the fold.
“I’m just excited to get it done,” Scott said. “I didn’t realize I was the first guy to finish. I’m just glad to get it over with.”
Lawrence played two years for the University of Minnesota after transferring from Valley Forge Military College. He was fourth on the team with 85 tackles last season and had eight stops for loss. He also had four pass breakups, one interception and one forced fumble.
The Eagles are loaded with similarly sized linebackers including Ernie Sims, Akeem Jordan and rookie fourth round pick Keenan Clayton.
Lawrence (6-0, 221) ran a 4.68 40-yard dash and registered a 40-inch vertical jump at the Indianapolis scouting combine. He also benched 225 pounds 21 times. Clayton (6-1, 229) clocked a 4.66 in the 40, produced a 41 1-2 inch vertical and 27 reps in the bench press.
