The Eagles deactivated punt returner Damaris Johnson, among others Sunday.

That all but guarantees DeSean Jackson's season debut as the Eagles' punt returner.

Quarterback Trent Edwards, running back Dion Lewis, linebacker Jamar Chaney, offensive lineman Steve Vallos and Nate Menkin and defensive end Vinny Curry also were scratched.

With Akeem Jordan healthy again, Chaney has become a fringe player for the Eagles.
