Mayock: Berry & Thomas worth a trade-up
NFL Network draft analyst Mike Mayock said on a conference call Wednesday he suspects the Eagles would most likely trade up in the first of the draft to select a safety like Eric Berry (6-0, 211) of Tennessee or Earl Thomas (5-10, 197) of Texas. Thomas plays 100 pounds bigger (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WK_tq6nqCPU).
Berry could come off the board from 7-to-12.
Thomas could slide into the late teens but probably not to 24, where the Birds draft.
Mayock thinks the Birds would be happy with Thomas, whom he considers the premier playmaker of all of the safeties.
"Earl Thomas, in my opinion, is the most instinctive safety I've seen in five or six years," Mayock said.
