Burgess cut; McCray signed
The Eagles got rid of Derrick Burgess, who played only a few series against the Vikings, and signed seven-year veteran Bobby McCray.
The 6-6, 260-pound McCray is extremely long for a team such as the Eagles, who prefer sawed-off defensive ends.
McCray, 29, was a 2004 seventh-round draft choice out of Florida who spent four seasons with the Jaguars and two with the New Orleans Saints (2008-09). In 93 games, including 37 starts, McCray has 29 1-2 sacks.
McCray’s most productive season was 2006 when he notched 10 sacks for the Jaguars. He also topped the Saints with 6 sacks in 2008.
