Vick must avoid being third straight Birds starter to be hurt on opening day

Those slow starts typical of the Eagles have taken their toll on the quarterbacks.

For the last two seasons the starter has been hurt in the season opener.

In 2009 Donovan McNabb got his ribcage smashed. Kevin Kolb took over.

Last year Kolb was concussed. Mike Vick stepped in.

If the worst happens today in St. Louis, Mike Kafka might have to lead the Eagles' offense against the Rams. Vince Young is nursing a hamstring injury that would make him a sitting duck, if you will.
