Hurt at practice Thursday.

Eagles cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha was carted off the field Thursday afternoon with a left knee injury.

 

Asomugha was in considerable pain as he was helped out of the cart and into the NovaCare Complex by Eagles trainer Rick Burkholder.

The Eagles were counting on Asomugha to help out in coverage on tight ends Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez, who have 15 touchdown receptions between them.

Asomugha already had a key role in the game plan versus New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.
