Thornton doesn't know much about the cartoon character that by some accounts is a humanoid mass of vegetable matter emanating from a scientist burned by a chemical splashing him while someone tries to put a hit on him. Who would have known?

But the character is built like the muscular Thornton, one of the guys battling for a litany of roster spots with the Eagles, and a storyline in the Thursday Delco Times (www.delcotimes.com/sports).
