Eagles' Chip Kelly cuts Oregon player

Offensive lineman Isaac Remington topped the list of 10 players released Sunday by the Eagles.

Remington was one of six players Eagles head coach Chip Kelly coached during his tenure at Oregon.
More decisions ahead for Kelly.

The Eagles have to make three more transactions to reach the 75-man limit by 4 p.m. Tuesday.

In addition to Remington the Eagles cut tight ends Derek Carrier and Will Shaw, defensive end Eddie McClam, wide receiver Nick Miller, offensive tackle Nic Purcell, defensive tackle Daryell Walker, cornerback Eddie Whitley, long snapper James Winchester and punter Brad Wing.

Whitley was waived/injured.

The remaining Oregon players on Kelly's roster are safety Patrick Chung, linebacker Casey Matthews, wide receivers Will Murphy and Jeff Maehl and quarterback Dennis Dixon.

Keep those guys on your roster Chip. You know what they can do. ESPECIALLY Maehl, Matthews, and Chung. Maehl is a perfect 3rd down go to receiver. In his 4 years here, he caught EVERYTHING thrown to him. Chung is simply a head hunter. He should start in my opinion. And Casey Matthews is a playmaker. Period. He needs to be at least in the rotation

While Dixon was good in Eugene, he simply doesn't have the speed to run that offense in the NFL. Will Murphy wasn't at all that good here in Eugene. I don't know what he is doing on the roster still...
