Cooper, Kelce discuss signing with Eagles

Eagles wide receiver Riley Cooper could have become an unrestricted free agent in a couple of weeks.

All things considered, signing a five-year $25 million contract extension to remain here was much more important.

Make no mistake the second chance the Eagles gave Cooper after he was caught on video screaming the N-word went a long way in shaping his choice. That, and a career season.

Cooper also likes Chip Kelly's fastbreak system and reckons that the tempo will increase if Jeremy Maclin re-signs with the club.

Eagles center Jason Kelce, on the other hand, sounded as if he had all the money and security he'll ever need after inking a six-year contract extension worth $37.5 million, including $13 million guaranteed per Spotrac.com.

Kelce effectively is tied to the Eagles for seven years.
