With Maclin sidelined, Cooper returns to practice

Practice closed Wednesday.
Riley Cooper practiced in helmet and pads Wednesday for the first time since fracturing his collarbone early in training camp.

Cooper isn't sure what the coaches' plan is for him. Even the limited work was welcomed by the veteran with steel pins in his shoulder.

"You feel like you're actually a part of the team again," Cooper said. "It felt good. We're ahead of schedule. I feel good. I'm not a doctor but it feels good."

Jeremy Maclin (hip pointer) was  held out of practice. Safety Kurt Coleman, still nursing facial cuts from his collision with Browns running back Trent Richardson, was limited. Wide receiver Jason Avant (wrist) practiced fully.
