Eagles finally activate Dion Lewis

Heinz Field east view with Allegheny River.
The Pitt connection couldn't have hurt Dion Lewis, who was activated for the first time this season.

Lewis attended the University of Pittsburgh. He'd been unable to see the field this season basically because rookie running Chris Polk was a bigger help on special teams. Polk was deactivated for the Steelers game.

The Eagles also scratched quarterback Trent Edwards, wide receiver Riley Cooper, linebacker Akeem Jordan, offensive linemen Steve Vallos and Nate Menkin, and defensive end Vinny Curry.

Jamar Chaney started at weak side linebacker in place of Jordan, nursing a strained hamstring.
