Eskin's Otho Davis story

Jaworski getting help from Davis.
A few more antecdotes about  Otho Davis, the late Eagles trainer, whose legacy lives on at the Otho Davis Scholarship Foundation dinner Tuesday night.

Rich Burg, who worked in media relations for the Eagles, remembers Davis coming to the rescue at the last minute with a golf bag, of all things. So what if it had multliple Gatorade logos?

Television and radio personality Howard Eskin surely won't mind me sharing the story about the bee sting at an Eagles training camp. Eskin was given some Benadryl and told to take a pill. Two days later the sting was gone but Eskin's uh, specimen, still was colored blue. If Davis was around, he'd be smiling about it.

A ton of other stories will set the scene at the Otho Davis Scholarship Foundation (ODSF) awards banquet Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at the Sheraton Society Hill.

Eagles celebrities include emcee Ron Jaworski and former Eagles head coach Dick Vermeil.  Raffles, live and silent auctions and local celebrities are part of the gala. Tickets are available by calling 877-500-1129 or logging onto www.OthoDavisFoundation.org.

The ODSF is honoring former Eagles team physician, Dr. Vincent DiStefano, the first recipient of the Dick Vermeil Award.
