K.C. has Andy Reid on the hook

Chiefs first draft pick in Andy Reid era?
Andy Reid never was in such demand as he's been after being fired.

Reid is on the verge of inking a deal to join the Kansas City Chiefs, who interviewed him Wednesday in Philadelphia according to ESPN's Chris Mortenson. Click here for the story.

Earlier this week Reid had a deal basically done with the Arizona Cardinals, if you believe one of the local reports.

Delcotimes.com reported that Kansas City would be among the top landing spots for Reid. Click here for that piece.

The Cardinals position doesn't make as much sense for Reid, who would be tasked with resurrecting the career of quarterback Kevin Kolb, who Big Red got rid of. Reid said Kolb had durability issues.

The Chiefs, despite a 2-13 record, have talent. Five Chiefs were voted into the Pro Bowl including safety Eric Berry, linebacker Tamba Hali, punter Craig Colquitt, linebacker Derrick Johnson and running back Jamaal Charles.

The finish that cost Romeo Crennel the head coaching job also earned the Chiefs the first pick in the draft. They could use it to convince Georgia junior quarterback Aaron Murray to come out.
