Andy Reid landing in desert

Andy won't need cold weather gear in Arizona.
Guess who the Eagles are going to open the 2013 season against at Lincoln Financial Field?

Former Eagles head coach Andy Reid (strange sounding, isn't it?) is on his way to the Arizona Cardinals according to this report. That paves the way for an opener like no other.

And the buzz is Big Red is going to reunite with Tom Heckert, his general manager for a chunk of the more successful part of his tour with the Eagles. Heckert was canned by former Eagles president Joe Banner, now the president of the Browns. This lineage is almost disturbing, eh?

Reid also would have quarterback Kevin Kolb in his locker room with the Cardinals. Kolb guided the Cardinals to a 4-1 mark last year, including a win over Reid and the Eagles, before falling apart physically, his M.O. throughout his NFL career.

As far as the 2013 schedule, the NFL typically highlights ex-coaches and quarterbacks against their former teams to add to the storyline.

More on this as it develops.
