Eagles in driver's seat for playoff berth

'One-game season' approach working.
The probability of the Eagles reaching the playoffs jumped significantly thanks to their blowout of the Detroit Lions and the Dallas Cowboys Monday night loss.

The NFC East-leading Eagles (8-5) have a 61 percent chance of reaching the playoffs according to PlayoffStatus.com.

The Eagles have a 47 percent probability of garnering the third playoff seed, which would mean at least one home playoff game.

The Cowboys (7-6), second in the East, now have just a 45 percent probability of reaching the playoffs.,

The Eagles have a 67.14 percent chance of making the playoffs and a 44.1 percent chance of being the third seed, according to PlayoffRace.com.

Other than winning out, the Eagles have no clear cut clinching options.

Should the Eagles win out, they get the third seed.

If the playoffs ended today the Eagles would be the third seed and host the San Francisco 49ers (9-4), believe it or not, in the first round of the playoffs.

The Eagles have less than a 6 percent chance to get a bye as the Seattle Seahawks (11-2) and New Orleans Saints (10-3) have all but locked up the highest seeds.
