McCoy chasing Eagles first NFL rushing title since '49
With his chief
competition hurting, LeSean McCoy can become the first Eagles player to lead
the NFL in rushing since Steve Van Buren in 1949.
McCoy isn’t going
to run for 217 yards each week as he did leading the Eagles to a 34-20 blowout
of the Detroit Lions in the snow Sunday.
But with 1,305
rushing yards, McCoy has a healthy lead over Adrian Peterson (1,221 yards), who
has an ankle issue limiting his mobility.
The third-leading
NFL rusher is Jamaal Charles of the Kansas City Chiefs with 1,162 yards.
