Eagles statement raises questions

Man-up at the podium ...
Anyone else wonder what this 'matter of record' is the Eagles referenced in their statement Monday about the steroids found with the body of the late Garrett Reid? He was the son of head coach Andy Reid.

To wit:

"The NFL has a rigorous drug testing program for its players," owner Jeffrey Lurie's statement read. "It is a matter of record that none of our players has tested positive for any of the steroids mentioned in the district attorney's report."

A matter of record? Who's record? Please show me the record. Or at least explain what that record is. Oh, and did players test positive for other steroids? This statement almost makes me  wonder why the Eagles have cut players.

It's certainly not a public record. The NFL's substance abuse program is private, anonymous, whatever you want to call it.

The Eagles' statement raises   questions and sweeps potentially valuable information under the rug that could be used to help others.
