Vick's hamstring still 'pulled'

Chip Kelly gets animated talking quarterbacks.
Michael Vick is back where he started.

Eagles head coach Chip Kelly said Vick's magnetic resonance imaging test revealed he still has a pulled hamstring.

"It’s hurt in the same spot," Kelly said. "We’ll see how he goes. I don’t anticipate Mike being able to play this week. But we’ll monitor him. Nothing new from what happened the last time, is the way it was explained to me."

Eagles ship Sopoaga to Patriots

The Eagles traded nose tackle Isaac Sopoaga and a sixth-round draft pick to the Patriots for a fifth-round pick in 2014.

The Patriots were desperate for help at nose tackle as Vince Wilfork suffered a torn Achilles' tendon.
Watching Sopoaga's plane take off.

Sopoaga had 10 tackles in eight games with the Eagles after signing a three-year $11 million contract with the Eagles, including $3.75 million guaranteed.

Shortly after signing with the Eagles Sopoaga said the Eagles with rookie head coach Chip Kelly would "shock the world."

The shocker is the Eagles got something for Soap, who clearly is near the end of the line.

Sopoaga played 47 snaps in the loss last week to the Giants but wasn't credited with a tackle.

Kelly in no rush to get Vick back

In so many words Chip Kelly indicated Monday he's seen enough of Michael Vick to realize this is a good time to give the veteran all of the time he needs to rehab the problematic hamstring.

Rookie Matt Barkley is next quarterback up for the struggling Eagles.
"I’m going to wait for the determination but Mike didn’t seem like he was going to be ready this week,” Kelly said Monday. “He felt like when I talked to him the first time, that he thought he was going to be back after the Giants game. This is the first time when I talked to him that he thought he may be out. We’ll see when we sit down and visit with him after they get the final results and I talk to Chris (Peduzzi) and Dr. DeLuca."

Injured reserve, at some point, might become part of the conversation although it's hard to imagine Vick being happy about that.

With Nick Foles not far from a return after sustaining a concussion and rookie Matt Barkley looking like he could be the starter this weekend against the Raiders, it would make sense for the Eagles to see with certainty if they fit Kelly's offensive model.

Regardless the Eagles need to take a hard look at this group of college quarterbacks who could compose the 2014 draft,

No Super Bowls ... and counting

OK, 'License Plate' Joe Ruback is a Giants fans. No ifs, ands or buts about it.

He's also creative.
License Plate Joe capturing the frustrations of Eagles fans.

And it's tough to get the last word in when he's got this jersey on.

Watching the Eagles play the Giants brings a sinking feeling. The Giants are failing. And the Eagles look like they're headed there at least the way their quarterback situation is.

Michael Vick obviously wasn't healed from his pulled hamstring.

Nick Foles didn't look like the answer before suffering the concussion against the Cowboys.

And rookie Matt Barkley always seems to be looking for his next turnover.

Vick probable for Giants

One tough walkthrough for The Man.

Michael Vick and his stretched hamstring endured the walkthrough with no issues Friday and are listed probable for the Giants, who oppose the Eagles Sunday at the Linc.

The Eagles formally ruled out quarterback Nick Foles (concussion) and linebacker Jake Knott (hamstring).

Questionable are defensive end Cedric Thornton (knee) and safety Patrick Chung (shoulder).

Foles and Knott were the only Eagles who didn’t participate in practice.

Whatcha think of the new cap?

The NFL's “Salute to Service” initiative includes a line of camouflage caps Eagles players and coaches will wear on the sidelines throughout the month of November.

The Eagles begin wearing it during their Nov. 10th game at Green Bay. (By the way, someone I know fairly well celebrates a big anniversary the next day).

These caps are available for purchase
at www.neweracap.com.

A share of the proceeds is slated to go to the troops.
