Eagles quarterback Sam Bradford won the Heisman Trophy at Oklahoma.
He's part of the popular commercial series featuring Heisman winners sponsored by Nissan. In the following clip Bradford is sandbagging and boarding up the so-called Heisman House, presumably in anticipation of a storm, when Vinny Testaverde drives up in a car with Florida plates, gets out with a bag of groceries and says hello. Bradford's jaw drops. Testaverde won the Heisman at Miami, where, uh, the Hurricanes play. "Hurricane's coming," Bradford mutters, realizing the connection and that he'd been set up. The next thing you know the hammer, nails and boarding is flying across the lawn toward the other, very amused Heisman winners who got him, including RGIII.
Running back DeMarco Murray returned to practice Friday, but that was the extent of the good injury news at Eagles training camp.
Murray, coming off a respiratory illness, barely practiced before shutting it down. Linebacker Kiko Alonso sat out his second straight day with a concussion and linebacker Mychal
Kendricks didn’t practice, although he watched the session and said he was OK.
Additionally tight end Zach Ertz was a spectator for the Eagles.
Kamal Gray, right, of Philly's Roots joined Dom DiSandro at practice.
Offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur, who coached Sam Bradford for one season with the St. Louis Rams, was unable to contain his optimism over the quarterback’s comeback from back-to-back ACL surgeries.
“I think experience makes us all better,” Shurmur said. “It’s not always pretty. There’s times when you’ve got to experience it. I like to think that sometimes when you have some things go wrong it ends being sort of a blessing because you learn from it. From the time we’ve been together in Philadelphia he’s gotten his body and knee right and you can see he’s executing out here at a high level.”
Among other mentions Friday, Shurmur isn’t alarmed at the vacancy at right guard, which right now is a competition primarily among Matt Tobin, Andrew Gardner and Dennis Kelly.
Shurmer said wide receiver Nelson Agholor, the first round pick out of USC is “doing terrific.”
Shurmur plugged tight end Trey Burton, who picked up a blocked punt and scored last season. Burton figures to play an expanded role in the H-back spot manned last year by James Casey.
Oh, and Shurmur is a fan of G.J. Kinne, who switched from quarterback to wide receiver this season.
“G.J. Kinne is like that utility infielder,” Shurmur said. “He’s Lou Whitaker and Alan Trammell all wrapped up in one. He’ll do anything to win games.”
Sam Bradford is taking the rehab from a second straight torn left ACL less aggressively.

Orthopedist Dr. James Andrews recommended it. Bradford, at his intro news conference Wednesday, made it clear he intends to use the skepticism surrounding yet another comeback as "motivation. "I understand it from their standpoint," Bradford said. "I'd probably be a little apprehensive, too. But I know how hard I've worked to get back this second time around. I'm ready to go as soon as they clear me. I can't wait to get on the field. I don't think anyone should be worried. I think once they see me on the field and they see how hard I'm going to work to get back, I think all those doubts are going to be gone from their minds."
